Joey’s latest project is a first of a kind pedal powered classroom consisting of bicycle generators powered by students that charge battery banks and run classroom appliances, monitor data, and include mechanical food blenders. The pilot program has been launched at Prairie Crossing Charter School and includes a 3-tiered “banking” program:
1. Battery Banking: A bike-powered battery program integrated into STEM curricula,
charging devices and equipped with data monitoring systems enabling classroom and
inter school energy competitions. Program integration also includes non-STEM areas
such as P.E. and special events.
2. Body Banking: Mechanically powered blending produces smoothies to benefit student’s
bodies and brains. Kinetic to electric conversions enable further STEM integration.
3. Cash Banking: Student led pedal power smoothie enterprises launched, capable of
netting $10K+ annually per school with healthy, low waste, zero emission products. A 2-
day pilot netted $1400.
Additionally, each partner school receives assemblies that energize programmatic implementation. Interesting in learning more?

Joey, we couldn't have done this without you, and I wouldn't want to try."
